About Sue

Yoga and Mindfulness and Meditation teacher, Sue McPhie is passionate about sharing these practices in a way that everybody can benefit

After growing up in Sydney and studying nursing and midwifery, Sue came to the Snowy Mountains in the 1980s to work at the Cooma Hospital..

Having raised a family here along with her husband Paul, Sue has come to fall in love with this area – the surrounding landscapes as well as the town of Cooma, which has so much to offer.

Yoga & Meditation

In 2000, Sue became interested in Yoga and practiced here with a number of teachers who have inspired her in both practice and lifestyle.

From the first time she tried Yoga, Sue knew it was going to be part of her life forever.

In 2015, Sue made the transition to teaching, having studied 350hr teacher training through My Health Yoga in Brisbane. Yin Yoga Teacher Training was completed in 2019 through Arhunta Yoga and is certified in "Rewind" Gold Yoga for Boomers and Seniors.

After trying different Mindfulness and Meditation styles over the years Sue was keen to learn more about it.

Studying with the Australian Centre for Meditation and Mindfulness in Melbourne has brought an in-depth knowledge of many styles including Buddhist philosophy, Insight meditation, meditation for chronic pain and death and dying, and journaling, amongst others.

She is a member of Meditation Association of Australia.

Sue now has her Advanced Certificate in Guiding and Teaching Meditation and has recently gained her Diploma in Teaching and Guiding Meditation.

Sue also works as a Coach for the Australian Centre for Meditation and Mindfulness - mentoring new Mindfulness and Meditation Teachers.

Sue loves sharing these truly accessible opportunities of Yoga and Meditation with people in her local community of Cooma and the surrounding Snowy Mountains, and looks forward to introducing them to many more students in the future.
